Restorative Nursing Assistant Training Program Description

This program includes 30 hours of classroom time and 12 hours of clinical experience for a program total of 42 hours. Day or evening classes may be available. Most classes are 4 weeks long; however, some programs may be 5 to 6 weeks in length. Please call us for our scheduled class offerings.

The program is designed for those seeking employment for the position of a Restorative Nursing Assistant. The objective of the program is to instruct the student to meet the required skills to perform simple therapy/nursing procedures contributing to the care and rehabilitation of the sick or injured and others requiring therapy services.

The student will complete the required number of clinical experience hours at a long-term care facility or hospital with a licensed therapist instructor. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be awarded a CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION in the RNA Training program. At the present time (since 2002), the State of Illinois no longer has a certification exam for the Occupational Rehabilitation Aide (ORA) and Physical Rehabilitation Aide (PRA). However the curriculum followed at Healthcare Inservices, Inc. is the same as required by the State of Illinois when certification was mandatory. This program does meet Medicare and Medicaid guidelines for the CAN or DDA working with Restorative Nursing programs.
