BASIC NURSING ASSISTANT TRAINING
Overall objectives for the Basic Nurse Assistant Training Program are designed to meet the level of skill & knowledge that will allow the student to achieve State of Illinois Certification status as a Nursing Assistant. This program is meant to provide a strong foundation and preparation for continued academic pursuit. Following Federal and Illinois State law, this course is open to anyone 16 years of age or older and a High School diploma is not required. Some students take this course to begin a career as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) while a great percentage of others are attending in order to meet prerequisites to get into a nursing program at a community college or university. To become a CNA and transfer to the college of the student's choice, the student must first complete the course with a passing grade and pass the Illinois State Competency Exam.

NURSING ASSISTANT RE-CERTIFICATION "21 SKILLS"
(Lombard Location Only)
If you have already successfully taken a CNA course before (at any school) and passed the state certification test but have not worked as a CNA for some time; we offer a recertification program designed to get your CNA status back to "active" on the Illinois Nurse Aide Registry.

RESTORATIVE NURSING ASSISTANT
(Lombard Location Only)
The Restorative Nursing Assistant course is open to any Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Developmental Disabilities Aide (DDA) who wishes to be more involved with therapy programs for their Residents. This course is a combination of Physical Rehabilitation Aide and Occupational Rehabilitation Aide.

PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN SPECIALIST
Students entering this course must be at least 18 years of age and pass a reading comprehension test. The student will learn how to safely take quality blood specimens from patients. A national certification exam is available.

EKG (ELECTROCARDIOGRAPH) TECHNICIAN
The Electrocardiograph Technician is a healthcare worker who specializes in doing the diagnostic test of the EKG. This person is also able to make certain determinations of abnormal EKG readings. In this course, the students also learn how to apply a Holter monitor to a patient. Basic principles of treadmill stress testing are also covered in the class. A National Certification Exam is available.

DIALYSIS TECHNICIAN
